Frequently Asked Questions


Where am I able to go on my holiday?
Anywhere you like! HLC Rewards can be used anywhere with our ‘points plus play’ option. If you would like to getaway using your points alone, there are many holiday options available throughout Australia as well as Cruising options.

What about transport to and from my holiday destination?
Getting to and from the airport and each property, is your responsibility, including the cost.

Can I use my rewards points for airfares or car hire?
Yes, you may redeem your Reward Points for airfares to your destination, or for car hire. Our exclusive travel agent will give you the best available rates at the time of booking for your travel dates.

Guest Information

How do I make a booking or booking enquiry??
Once you have accumulated 10 reward points, we will contact you via email and advise you have qualified for a getaway. You can then choose to keep accumulating points to the next level (30 points) for a longer getaway or you can begin to plan your getaway (For full details see HOW TO BOOK below).

Do I have to arrive and depart my accommodation at a certain time?
Normally, check-in is at 2pm and check-out is 10am, but this can vary with each property. Individual requests can be made directly with the property. We cannot guarantee nor are we responsible for requests or arrangements made between yourself and your accommodation provider.

What kind of room I will be given?
HLC Rewards Getaways include standard room types however, room upgrades are available. Our Travel Consultants will be able to advise the room type(s) available at the time of booking (and additional cost) in the event you wish to ‘points plus pay’ and upgrade your room type. Your room type will appear on the travel documentation that you receive prior to travel. If you require particular facilities, then it is important to request them at the time of booking. For detailed information on room types and facilities available at at particular property, please visit the website of said property.

What about children or facilities for any other special needs?
Please communicate your exact requirements with our Travel Consultant at the time of booking to ensure your needs can be met regarding children or any other special needs. Generally, subject to hotel policies, where children are noted as free of charge it is in existing bedding. However, this may mean that children may be sharing existing bedding (such as a double bed). Whilst all care is taken when booking, we hold no responsibility for incorrect bedding configurations and additional costs for additional bedding charged by the property.

What if I am travelling alone?
Single travellers can take advantage of the program. Prices for single accommodation are generally the same as twin share however this will confirmed at the time of booking.

Do I need travel insurance?
We strongly suggest all travellers take out appropriate travel insurance before travelling both within Australia and overseas. Please speak to our travel consultant who can assist you with your travel insurance needs.

Time Constraint Information

When can I use my points?
You may use your points at any time once you have achieved the minimum number (10 points). Please be aware that some properties may be difficult to book during peak periods and blackout periods do apply. We suggest that you plan well in advance to avoid any disappointment.

When do my points expire?
Your points have no expiry date and they will continue to accumulate however we do encourage you to utilise them at least once per annum so you get the getaway you deserve.


How do I book?
All the details on ‘how to book’ will be provided in your confirmation email once you reach the minimum points level (10 points). It is a very simply system whereby we provide you with a HLC Rewards Card to that to our exclusive travel agent who will allocate your points and handle your booking.

Do I have to use all my points at the same time or on the one holiday?
No, you may use your points in 10 point increments, wherever you like, providing you have met the minimum points (10). For example, If you had achieved 20 points, you could enjoy a two night romantic break in the vineyards, and later in the year a 2 night break in Sydney. Or if you have 40 points for example, you could have a romantic weekend in Sydney at the end of Summer and a week cruising the South Pacific later in the year. Please not all accommodation is subject to availability.

Can I transfer my points to someone else?
No, but you can book accommodation using your points on behalf of another guest. For example, you can book a weekend away on behalf of a family member and have the voucher issued in their name. The number of points used would be deducted from your balance. Speak to our Travel Consultant and then provide the names you would like to appear on the booking.

Do I need to pay a deposit to hotels or car hire upon check in?
Upon checking into your accommodation, you may be required (at the discretion of the hotel) to present a credit card for imprint as a form of guarantee. If you do not have a credit card, you may be required to pay a cash deposit to your hotel. These monies are fully refundable upon check out, providing any food/beverage/ amenities accounts have been paid in full. Please ask our Travel Consultant for full details.

What if I'm not happy with my accommodation?
HLC Rewards is flexible and allows you to choose your accommodation therefore we take no responsibility if the the standard of accommodation provided is not to your satisfaction.
