With over 25 years of experience in the Legal and Conveyancing Industry, starting as a Paralegal and becoming a qualified Licensed Conveyancer in 1999, Sue expanded her family’s business into Hunter Legal & Conveyancing in 2014.
Over the past decade, Sue has successfully grown Hunter Legal & Conveyancing into a thriving practice built on a culture of excellence, compassion, and community. She has assembled a highly skilled team of like-minded professionals who share her passion for delivering exceptional service while genuinely caring for the people they assist. Sue’s extensive experience spans residential and rural property transactions, to commercial and off-the-plan developments her career, she has successfully represented a diverse range of clients, including first-home buyers, families, investors, property developers, corporations, and charitable organisations across New South Wales and Australia.
Sue is passionate about property law and empowers her clients with the necessary strategies to gain the upper hand against competitors when it comes to securing property in the NSW region. Her dedication is shown in her availability to her clients including after hours and weekend service, with personal and regular communication. She consistently walks side by side with her clients from beginning to end alleviating the stress and giving her clients’ great piece of mind and confidence.

Ashleigh Macpherson
Director/ Principal Solicitor
Ashleigh joined the HLC team in 2020 and holds a Bachelor of Finance and Bachelor of Laws, being admitted to the Supreme Court of NSW in 2011.
As our Principal Solicitor, Ashleigh brings extensive legal expertise and a client-focused approach to every matter, specialising in Wills & Estate planning, Deceased Estates, Commercial Law and Property Law. She is known for providing practical legal advice whilst guiding clients through every stage of their matter with care and confidence.
She is passionate and proactive about ensuring her clients receive priority service and instruction from start to finish in their matter. Ashleigh believes that communication is the key to providing effective and efficient legal advice and prides herself on her ability to work with people from all walks of life.
Ashleigh is a proud member of the local Maitland community and is an avid supporter and participant of the Maitland Rugby & Netball Clubs respectively. Ashleigh enjoys balancing the demands of work with those of her young children and enjoys the family first dynamic offered to both employees and clients alike at Hunter Legal & Conveyancing.

Philip Hill was admitted as a Solicitor in 1968 and has dedicated more than five decades to serving the Hunter Valley community with integrity, professionalism, and unwavering commitment. Throughout his distinguished career, Phil built a reputation for providing trusted legal advice while fostering genuine, long-lasting relationships with the individuals, families, and businesses he served.
His passion for helping people and giving back to the community became the foundation upon which the firm was established. Guided by traditional values of honesty, respect, personalised service, and genuine care, Phil created a practice centred on putting clients first—principles that continue to define the firm today.

Milli Taranto
Licensed Conveyancer
Milli joined the HLC Property team in 2017 and has become an integral part of the firm through her dedication, professionalism, and genuine passion for helping others. Born and raised in the Hunter Valley, she is proud to be part of the local community and is committed to supporting local initiatives, businesses, and community events whenever she can.
Milli worked her way up from Reception to a Conveyancing Assistant grasping every area of the Conveyancing process rapidly. Balancing the demands of raising a young family with full-time employment and study, she achieved her qualification as a Licensed Conveyancer in 2019—a testament to her determination and commitment to professional excellence.

Sophie Conicella

Sophie is the 3rd generation to work in the family business. Starting in administration throughout high school and growing up in the business, has given her a like-minded passion for customer service and helping people in our community. Her dedication to helping others and professional demeanour, along with her excellent customer service skills makes her a valuable addition to the HLC property team.
Admitted as a Licenced Conveyancer in 2024, Sophie is the 4th team member to complete our Workplace study program, bringing a modern approach and fresh perspective to the profession. She is passionate about making the conveyancing process as stress-free as possible, ensuring her clients feel informed, supported, and confident every step of the way.
Sophie has had the honour of being mentored by some of the industry’s best and has developed strong relationships with our clients and referrers. She is known for her friendly nature which puts clients at ease from day one.
