You must have been separated from your spouse for at least twelve (12) months before applying for a divorce.

If you wish to divorce within two (2) years of your marriage, the Court will require you to attend family counselling beforehand. The Certificate you receive from the counsellor will need to be filed with the divorce application.

In most situations, given that divorce is a pivotal life event, you should consider updating your estate planning documents including your Will, Power of Attorney, and Enduring Guardianship following finalisation of your divorce.
